Ladies
The first ladies began training at Waterland in 2005. Now, 6 years later, we are able to prize ourselves as a tit-knit ladies team; all of us enthusiastic players who play rugby and support each other. Some of us have years of experience and others are very new, but winning and losing is something we always do together. The 2011 – 2012 season starten in September, this time in the 2nd division North. All ladies started with fresh energy and good hopes; this year with a trainer from the Dutch National Team. Inge Visser is, aside from being a great rugby player and sport teacher, also the founder of the ladies team at Waterland. She gives us training with real conviction and passion.
Our ladies are dedicated to the sport and go for it, as they always have. Tossing a ball around, having fun and fighting for each other, the team and for ladies rugby in general. We have an open, sociable and sporting group girls with ages varying from 15 to 43 years old. Our club is just outside of the centre of Purmerend, next to the sporthall “Beukenkamp”. Nearby is the train station: Purmerend Overwhere and a bus stop with busses to Amsterdam Central Station. A number of our players come from further afield: They come here with the car, motorbike, bus or train.
The ladies of Waterland Rugby Club are open to everybody! Rugby is a proper team sport, you can’t do it alone. It’s a diverse sport for anyone, of any size. We are looking for new team members! Girls who go for it, want to sport and love to have a fun time! Is rugby the sport for you? Are you not sure yet? Curious about our sport and our club? Don’t be shy! Come along and have a look on Tuesday and Friday evenings. For more information, you can contact our teammanager and/or our team captain. Trainingevenings: Tuesday and Friday from 20.30 until 22.00.
